hey Kids,

I have not forgotten about those of you who did not get finisher medals at the RO. The last number of teams did not get one because we ran out…it grieves me that we ran out because the RO is FOR YALL and you deserve the medals ! The extra medals are on order and I have a list of those of you who did not get them. YOU WILL GET THEM. Again, I am sorry. There were so many registrations the last week and I let a few in after the registration deadline so…we ran out. I’ll let ya know. This is a lesson learned.

HONG KONG TO BR, 126.2 TO NO, THEN BACK TO HONG KONG

Meet Chris Mak from Hong Kong…our longest traveled runner for the 2012 RO. Chris is 52 y/o. Chris left in the 8pm wave Friday night. His flight arrived in New Orleans at 8am that same day. He took a cab to Baton Rouge, then ran that night. Chris ran the RO UNAIDED and finished Sunday morning. He was all smiles when crossing the finish line and said in a very asian tinged accent, “This make me very happy Jeff”. I expresses how happy I was that he came so far to run the RO, then we hugged and took this picture. I asked him what he was going to do next or where he was going to go in New Orleans. Chris said, “My flight back to Hong Kong leaves today.” I was floored. Chris then added, “It’s an extention of the ultra, you fly, run, and fly with no hotel. It makes you stronger.” Then he flexed and we laughed and hugged again. Now that is an awesome story! Thanks so much Chris Mak!…People like you spur the rest of us on to GREATNESS! Guess what? He said he’s coming back in 2013!!! It was and always will be an honor.
